EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL returns for second bloody year Oct. 12–20

Based on Sam Raimi’s 80s cult classic films, EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL tells the tale of five college kids who travel to a cabin in the woods and accidentally unleash an evil force. And although it may sound like a horror, it’s not! The songs are hilariously campy and the show is bursting with more farce than a Monty Python skit.

EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL unearths the old familiar story: boy and friends take a weekend getaway at abandoned cabin, boy expects to get lucky, boy unleashes ancient evil spirit, friends turn into Candarian Demons, boy fights until dawn to survive.

As musical mayhem descends upon this sleepover in the woods, ‘camp’ takes on a whole new meaning with uproarious numbers like “All the Men in My Life Keep Getting Killed by Candarian Demons,” “Look Who’s Evil Now” and “Do the Necronomicon.”

The cast includes Gus King (Cleveland) as Ash, Dawn Hauenstein (Norwalk) as Cheryl, Lauren Merritt (Woodville) as Linda, Carrie Kennedy (Clyde) as Annie/Shelly, Samuel Merritt (Woodville) as Ed/Moose, Ed Kennedy (Clyde) as Scott, and Nick Kennedy (Clyde) as Jake.

Fake Shemps/S-Mart Shoppers/Deadites/Ensemble: Mia Garofolo (Norwalk), Roxana Garza (Bellevue), and Emily Kennedy (Clyde).

Musicians include Kristen Santos (Tiffin) on keyboard, Nathan Santos (Tiffin) on bass, Mike LaFountain (Oak Harbor) on lead guitar, and Alex Fee (Pierrepont Manor, NY) on drums.

Performances are Fri. and Sat. evenings, Oct. 12, 13, 19 and 20, 2018 in the Hirt Theater at Bellevue Society for the Arts, 205 Maple Street, Bellevue, complete with a fake blood ‘Splatter Zone,’ and other surprises!
