“What About Love?” Cabaret Feb. 9

In the style of Irving Berlin’s 1942 film, “Holiday Inn,” starring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire, where every holiday prompts a celebration, Bellevue Society for the Arts’ Holiday Innkeeper Cabaret Troupe is proud to announce February 9’s “What About Love?” Cabaret at 7 p.m.

The event features an array of funny, romantic, and traditional Valentine’s Day-themed songs and Broadway standards performed by some new and familiar BSA personalities.

The February 9 menu will feature rigatoni with or without meatballs, tossed salad, Italian bread, and Texas sheet cake.

Cabaret performances are by reservation only and are limited to 100 in attendance. Tickets are $20 each. Reservations must be made in advance by calling 419-484-2787.

The “What About Love?” Cabaret is hosted by Jimy Foreman, Whites Landing. Sarah Christophel, Norwalk, provides piano accompaniment.

Performances may also feature surprise guests!

Gilbert & Sullivan’s THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE Jan. 26–Feb. 4

Gilbert and Sullivan’s hilarious, hopeful farce follows young Frederic (Jared Bradley, Bellevue), an orphan who has mistakenly been apprenticed to an ineffectual but raucous band of pirates. He disavows the pirates’ way of life and falls for the beautiful Mabel (Leslie Childers, Bellevue). Frederic’s melodious tones win over the heart of Major-General Stanley’s songbird daughter, but when the Pirate King (Steve Koenig, Huron) discovers that General Stanley (director Jimy Foreman, Whites Landing) has lied about being an orphan to keep the pirates from stealing all of his belongings and carrying off his bevy of beautiful daughters, an ‘ingenious paradox’ may prevent the budding romance and lead to the death of ‘The very model of a modern Major-General.’
