Participant with Bellevue Society for the Arts, Committee to Grow Bellevue, Shop Bellevue, Ohio, and Bellevue Area Visitors and Tourism Bureau.
Art@106 was started by a group of area artists and members of the community who saw the need for a facility to display and sell art in Bellevue. In order to facilitate the institution of the Bellevue Artist Guild as a tax-exempt entity, it was decided to become part of Bellevue Society for the Arts. John and Judy Miller, part of the original group, helped out by offering their rental at 106 S. Sandusky Street at a very reasonable rate. So that was the beginning of Art@106. Basically, it is a place for area artists to show and sell their work.
Art@106: Bellevue Artist Guild is organized as a sub-entity of the Bellevue Society for the Arts to further the purposes of the BSA and utilize the BSA’s charitable status.
Art@106 is run by a Committee of the Whole which is made up of the Members. There are two types of membership: commercial and non-commercial.
Non-Commercial — promote the organization’s purposes and enjoy the benefits (lessons, trips, etc.) of the group, but do not sell their art at the facility. They may be asked to volunteer. There is no limit to the number of non-commercial members. The fee is $20 for a single, $30 for a couple, and $50 for a family.
Displaying Members — have all the rights of the non-displaying member plus may sell their work at the facility. Artists may apply to become a Displaying Member by submitting their work to a juried panel which will be voted in by two-thirds of the Committee of the Whole. Membership in this category is a one-time fee of $50, with a possibility of assessments for the upkeep of the building. A 20% commission for the sale of work if you volunteer at the shop. It will be 30% for those who do not volunteer.
New wall colors and glass shelving were added in 2015; artwork was added in 2020.
