THE SOUND OF MUSIC reschedules performances

The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world’s most beloved musical. Featuring a trove of beloved songs, including “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “My Favorite Things,” “Do Re Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and the title number, THE SOUND OF MUSIC won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars.

The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows an ebullient postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision.

The cast includes Laura Hohman as Maria Rainer, Adaleine Jackson as The Mother Abbess, Sarah Christophel as Sister Berthe, Liesl Higgins as Sister Margaretta, Sarah Edwards as Sister Sophia, Adam Shanaman as Capt. Georg von Trapp, Elijah Robbins as Franz, Reagan Huff as Frau Schmidt, Elizabeth Robbins as Liesl von Trapp, Nathan Shanaman as Friedrich von Trapp, Annika Campbell as Louisa von Trapp, Kaleb Franks as Kurt von Trapp, Emery Mildner as Brigitta von Trapp, Londyn Robinson as Marta von Trapp, Kambrie Franks as Gretl von Trapp, Jacob Studebaker-Ellis as Rolf Gruber, Chelsea Hohman as Elsa Schraeder, Brittany Robinson as Ursula, Jimy Foreman as Max Detweiler, Robert Coffelt as Herr Zeller, Daniel Robbins as Baron Elberfeld, Erika Robbins as Baroness Elberfeld, Terry Robinson as Frau Zeller, and Doug Franks as Admiral von Schreiber.

Ensemble members include Ava Advey, Hannah Bour, Delaney Fritz, Amanda James, Sam Kinney, Gracie Lee, Ella Mildner, Ashley Norman, Jordyn Robinson, Keith Robinson, Carol Shanaman, Rachel Shanaman, Cheryl Showalter, Marty Siegel, JoAnne Smola, Anya Stuart, Kay Studebaker-Ellis, and Ian Weiss.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC will open BSA’s 27th season on Oct. 1, 2, and 8. It is directed by Samuel Hohman. Christine Turner serves as Music Director. Assistant Director is Ashley Dawson. It is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization. It is sponsored by Mel & Jeanie Miller & Family.
