What’s happening at BSA?

You may be wondering what’s happening with the remainder of our 25th Anniversary season.

Tween Theatre’s SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN JR. was supposed to happen in March. They were just over a week from opening when the COVID-19 pandemic reared its ugly head. It is our hope to proceed with it sometime in the next few months if guidelines allow. We’re still figuring out the details. Stay tuned!

Children’s Theatre’s THE WIZARD OF OZ (YPE) was scheduled for May. It was cast and rehearsals were just starting to get underway.

Teen Theatre auditions for GREASE were to be this month, and production was slated for July.

These productions have been moved to our 2020–21 season. Dates and times will be announced at a later date. All children, tweens and teens that were of eligible age for this season will be eligible for next season.

SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS will be produced as planned (sort of… Keep reading). We have the support of the Huron County Health Dept., and — as guidelines permit — performances will be Fri. and Sat., Aug. 14, 15, 21 and 22 at 7 p.m., and Sun., Aug. 16 and 23 at 2 p.m. in the parking lot of Bellevue Society for the Arts, 205 Maple St., Bellevue.

Watching the performers on hay wagon stages, audiences will be seated on their own blankets and lawn chairs. Or they may remain in their cars if they wish. There will be sufficient lighting. Performers will be mic’d, and — along with the music — be piped through outdoor speakers.

Call 269-251-0302 and director Cheryl Hansen Showalter will answer any questions or address any concerns.
