FARNDALE AVENUE CHRISTMAS CAROL auditions Oct. 23, 24

imgs-1753Bellevue Society for the Arts announces auditions for the Christmas comedy, THE FARNDALE AVENUE HOUSING ESTATE TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILD DRAMATIC SOCIETY’S PRODUCTION OF A CHRISTMAS CAROL, Monday and Tuesday, October 23 and 24 at 7 p.m. at 205 Maple Street, Bellevue.

In a festive mood, the ladies of the Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society mount an assault on a classic with their stage version of “A Christmas Carol.” They enthusiastically portray a dizzy array of characters from the Dickensian favorite (and a few which aren’t), engineer some novel audience participation while bravely contending with an intrusive PA system and a real Farndale first: wrap their vocal cords (and feet) around two original, show-stopping songs.

Roles are available for four women, one girl, and one boy. All ages and races considered. British accents are preferred, but not required.

Performances are Thursday and Friday, December 21 and 22 at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, December 23 at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. in The Hirt Theater at 205 Maple Street, Bellevue.

THE FARNDALE AVENUE HOUSING ESTATE TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILD DRAMATIC SOCIETY’S PRODUCTION OF A CHRISTMAS CAROL is written by David McGillivray and Walter Zerlin, Jr., and is loosely based on Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” It is directed by Jerry Beck, Sandusky, and is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
