Due to scheduling conflicts, Bellevue Society for the Arts’ 2017–18 season opener, THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, has been rescheduled to January 26, 27, 28 and February 2, 3 and 4, 2018.
Those who have already auditioned for THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE have been cast.
The director is still looking for the character of Frederick, a member of the Pirates. He is unaffected and possesses an un-self-conscious sex appeal. He is youthful, genuine, and innocent. Playable age: 20–21. Vocal range: G4–Bb2. High school and college students welcome. The director also seeks additional men for roles as pirates and police. More women to play the daughters are welcome, and may also be double-cast as pirates and police.
An additional audition will be held Monday, November 27 at 7 p.m. at 205 Maple Street, Bellevue.
Broadway veteran Jimy Foreman, Whites Landing, directs. Martha Siegel, Bellevue, assists.
Bellevue Society for the Arts does not offer union contracts or cast understudies. All performers are volunteers.
THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE features a book and lyrics by Sir William Schwenck Gilbert, and music by Sir Arthur Seymour Sullivan. It is sponsored by Mel and Jeanie Miller and Family, and produced by special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All performance materials are also supplied by MTI.
